ArtPlace recently recognized Milwaukee as one of the Top 12 “ArtPlaces” in America. ArtPlace is a collaboration of national and regional foundations, federal agencies including the National Endowment for the Arts and some of the nation’s largest banks who work together to invest in art and culture across the U.S.
These 12 communities were identified as having successfully combined the arts, artists and venues along with businesses, restaurants and a walkable lifestyle to create more vibrant neighborhoods. Milwaukee’s success likely includes the state-of-the-art Milwaukee Art Museum, Gallery Night in Milwaukee’s Third Ward and other smaller projects scattered throughout the city’s vibrant neighborhoods and times of the year.
Milwaukee was the smallest metropolitan area named and the rest of the list includes:
- Brooklyn, NY
- Dallas, TX
- Los Angeles, CA
- Miami Beach, FL
- New York, NY
- Oakland, CA
- Philadelphia, PA
- Portland, OR
- San Francisco, CA
- Seattle, WA
- Washington, D.C.
Milwaukee’s strong arts culture continues to influence the city’s growth, showing there is no better time to live in proximity to such great cultural opportunities. Thinking about moving to Milwaukee or any of the surrounding areas? Contact our Relocation Specialists or visit their Facebook Page.
